Kovar (EN)

Kovar is a metal that is a mixture of iron (Fe), nickel (Ni), and cobalt (Co).
The coefficient of thermal expansion at room temperature is lower than that of other metals, and the coefficient of thermal expansion is close to the coefficient of thermal expansion of glass.
It is used for sealing hard glass and ceramics, semiconductor parts such as IC lead frames, and communication equipment.
Kovar is a very sticky material with a low coefficient of thermal expansion, but it is very difficult to process.
